Like UK, USA, Bangladesh also needs to create a post of the Chairman of Joint Chief of Staffs or Chief of General Staff of Defense to establish a chain of command over Army, Navy, Airforce by supervision and coordination the with Generals within three forces of the military in warfare and regular time. Now time to establish leadership within the military because warfare situation has been changed in Asian especially between India, China, Pakistan, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan. Bangladesh also has to maintain a well planned strategy with those. Defense Minister or Prime Minister is a civil person whom has no opportunity to hold deep military knowledge and strategy. For this reason, Bangladesh needs a military guardian on defense who can lead Army, Navy, Airforce by coordinate, advise supervision on various issues like strategy, plan, operations, weapons, developments, and so on. After PM or Defense Minister, CGS or CJCSC can supervise or order or lead the three forces chief generals as their boss under chain of command that had previously during our liberation war in 1971 by Army chief General MAG Osmani by holding Chief of Defense Staff or Chief of General staff.
In our present system, three forces chief of general staff are holding the same rank four-star and same designation. For any common decision or combined operation by 3 forces who will bring three chief generals under the same plan or same umbrella, Beyond civil PM or DM, need another boss with military knowledge who can bring them in a common decision by his or her leadership like Gen Osmani. The reality, civil defense minister cannot lead three forces generals properly by quality coordination, guidance, plan, etc during any warfare situation. In the battlefield, three forces chief of staff will work together under CGS or CDS's leadership that is leadership or chain of command within the military that will boost military leadership and appropriate defense system.
